Raspberry Pi workshop after, hosted by Lee Smith!
Tomorrow at the Computer Science Club meeting there will be a short demo of how to hook your PI up to a PC Laptop via ethernet cable in two steps !!! Elementary Science Night Volunteering
Worth 3 Club Points

This is a great opportunity to learn how to set up robotics and CS projects, as well as a good opportunity to get some volunteering experience! There will be a big range of ages showing up, so we can set up simple to intermediate projects. Lets get some kids interested in programming!

This will be an interesting event as people from the industry will be showing up, like Sonos, and other groups like the Phyics Circus from UCSB.

Some examples for projects:

We have a makey makey kit for a banana piano, a robot that can follow drawn lines and can hide from light, and some other cool demos that volunteers would help set up.
Set up some programs that you can easily explain and have the kids modify the code.
Python is a great language, with turtle for drawing and simple to understand code. Great introduction.
We want to set up a very simple program that we can write in as many different languages as possible and so we can show the kids how the languages are different.

It would be ideal if people could bring their laptops although Nathalie is trying to set up some chrome books for us, we will have a class room to ourselves with a projector and people will be coming in and out.

We need exact numbers of volunteers as a nice meal will be provided for the volunteers so please RSVP in the event below!

Need to figure out a title of our presentations, like SBCC Presents 'Programming Rocks!'.

Please email arkohanim@pipeline.sbcc.edu if you are interested in volunteering!

LAN Party
Worth 2 Club Points

***Please bring tables, chairs, extension cords, and of course anything you need to game!***

A LAN party is a party where people bring their own computers, hook them up, and game with each other long into the night. Also involves mass consumption of caffeine and junk food.

Tell us what consoles and games you are bringing/want to play in the event page link below!

Bring some snacks and drinks (no alcohol).

The event is officially ending at 1am but I'm sure there will be people gaming long after that!

Make sure to RSVP on the FB event page. Feel free to invite your friends, as long as they select that they are going (or you can ask us).
