We will be having the next meeting on Oct 30th, where we will talk about the many upcoming events, show the submitted T Shirt designs and more! TekSystems might be coming by and talking about their career opportunities with their partners Citrix and other companies. If not this meeting, definitely the next.
The meeting will be followed by a C++ Workshop from 3 - 4:30 pm in the CS Lab and then the LAN Party at 5 - 10pm.

LAN Party
A LAN party is a party where people bring their own computers, hook them up, and game with eachother. Also involves mass consumption of caffeine and junk food.
Tell us what consoles and games you are bringing/want to play on the event page below!
Bring some snacks and drinks (no alcohol). We will have plates of Tyer's famous Tri-Tip, Mashed Potatoes and Corn for around 5 dollars per plate. Make sure to tell us (on the event page) if you want a plate so we know how many to make.

CS Club LAN Party 5/24/2014:

Surprise Movie Night
So we scored the nicest room on campus!!
Add any submission you want to the poll (The movie will be provided by the CS Club, but feel free to tell us if you have a copy of one of the movies on the poll!) and vote on any you would like to see. We will then take the 5 (or around there) highest voted submissions and then we will have a final vote on the night of to choose which movie we will watch!

Guest Speaker Jay Freeman (saurik)
Jay Freeman, part-time UCSB CCS Computing Instructor and developer of Cydia (the alternative to the App Store for jaibroken iOS devices), will be giving a presentation on the ways software interacts with hardware.
Normally, such a presentation is given at exclusive conferences, so we are very fortunate to have this talk available to us!
We've reserved a large lecture hall and invite our members and other interested parties to come!
A more detailed description on the talk's contents will be posted here soon!

Virtualization Workshop
Learn about:
Multiple hypervisors, how to create snapshots, simple networking, proxmos, virtualbox, and some vmware.

Programming Competition:
Thanks so much to everyone that came and participated in the Programming Competition! It was a great 4 hours of fun and problem solving! Congrats to the winning team (Pikachu) made up of Zac Stringham and Nguyen Phi Hùng. Lets definitely do this again soon!

Note: If you are interesting in having us host another Programming Competition before the end of the semester, definitely tell us! We would love to host another!
Problem Solving Workshop (Sorry for the blurry image!)
We had in attendance around 24 members. It went on for 2 hours. James Howard Hosted.


Javascript Workshop
We had in attendance around 18 members. It went on for 2 and a half hours. Ryan Paul hosted it.

Unity Workshop
We had in attendance around 16 members. It went on for 80 minutes. Michelle Sandstrom hosted it.

Python Workshop
We had in attendance around 22 members. It went on for 2 hours. Lee Deglow Smith and James Howard (LTA of the Computer Science Lab) hosted.

BBQ
We had in attendance around 30 members. It went on for 4 hours.
